First of all, the ad starts with the boss teaching the new student, in German, how to do the job and how the machine works. Basically, he has to supervise and communicate with any submarines that are having technical problems. Suddenly, he receives an emmergency call from an English submarine that is sinking, but the new employee only speaks and understands german. It`s a dramatic and humourous ad, while the submarine crew were sinking, the new employee misunderstands and asks: “What are you thinking (sinking) about?”. They use printed words at the end of the ad as a solution to influence people to learn English because it may be really useful in their futur career. The commercial is trying to reach people who do not know English. Finally, the targetted audiancee can be anyone, because English is more and more used everywhere and it is important to have English aknowledge.
