First of all, this is an ad for Berlitz Language classes. The story is about the first day of work for a German who doesn’t speak English very well. There are some dialogs going on between the new employee and the boss in German, so we can’t really tell what they are saying but the boss is obviously training him. After the boss leaves, he gets an emergency call from a sinking English ship. When the captain on the ship calls and says “We are sinking”, the German doesn’t seem to understand everything, so he answers “What are you sinking about? (thinking)” This is clearly an ad for people who need some English classes, which is important. Even though the German look a bit stupid, it’s pretty funny to see that because there are a lot of people that are unaware that they are acting like that. Technically, it’s the same camera plan throughout, but we think this angle adds to the ad's ambiance. This ad is clearly delivering its message; we would have loved to have seen it on TV
